When the St. Vincent Greenway is complete; it will extend 7 miles from NorthPark and the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus all the way to Forest Park. It will connect with Maline Greenway on the north and ultimately join the Centennial, River des Peres, and Chouteau Greenways in Forest Park.
St. Vincent Greenway: St. Vincent Park to UMSL to North Hanley MetroLink (paved) runs 3.63 miles along the rolling hills of the UMSL campus and through the lush and shady landscape of St. Vincent County Park.
On the south side of the greenway, St. Vincent Greenway: Forest Park to Trojan Park (paved) runs 1.95 miles from Trojan Park at Etzel and Skinker through Ruth Porter Mall Park to Forest Park at Lindell. If you walk west along Delmar, you can meet up with the Centennial Greenway. The recently completed segment of the greenway from Delmar at DeBaliviere to Lindell runs parallel to the Loop Trolley tracks.
In fall 2014, a route from Etzel at Skinker in Wellston (Now the site of Trojan Park!) to St. Vincent County Park was identified through an extensive public engagement process. Design on the first phase of this expansion from Trojan Park to Eskridge is underway. The final land acquisition needed to advance the design has been purchased. The next phase of the design work will include utility coordination, permitting, design of the parking lot near Trojan Park and continued community engagement activities. Design of a small “pocket park” at Plymouth and Stephen Jones is underway. This phase is expected to be completed by the end of 2019. Planning to connect from Eskridge to St. Charles Rock Road is underway. For the balance 2019 will be working with the community to study different alignments.
When the entire connection is complete, it will connect the cities of Wellston and Pagedale to the Wellston and St. Charles Rock Road MetroLink stations and St. Vincent County Park. It will also complete a seven mile, continuous greenway stretching all the way from Forest Park, across the University of Missouri-St. Louis Campus, to the North Hanley MetroLink Station!
